This week AOTW : Señal de las Ciudades 3
Back after taking a couple weeks off for Vaporwave Alive II! Thanks to everyone who joined us and especially those who participated.
I’ve talked before about how Vaporwave can be a portal to another place or time in the world. One of my favorite portal-makers is definitely LAPA, who has been taking us to Hi native Argentina on almost every album for the last couple years. Señal de las Ciudades 3 is, naturally, the third entry in a series documenting Argentinian music and news broadcasts, this time covering the eighties. I love the way it switches between the two types of samples, there’s a lot of variety here, and over the whole thing is LAPA’s expertly applied layer of broken transmission noise. It truly sounds like it’s coming through a broken radio over thousands of miles and decades of time. Make sure to check out volumes one and two as well!
See you next week for another recommendation !

I know there were plans for a trilogy, but are there plans for more? I love LAPA’s voice in the Signalwave community.
