Dungeon curation #8 : ๐™๐™„๐™…๐™„ ๅณถใฎๆฐด

Ahead of her set at Sanctuary 2026 this weekend, we asked ๐™๐™„๐™…๐™„ ๅณถใฎๆฐด to share a few of the albums that inspire her .

Sheโ€™s been steadily making her mark across the scene, building a distinct identity through her visuals, DJ sets, and carefully curated projects. (Learn more about her by watching her interview on Hot Takes). Sheโ€™s recently launched a new vaporwave DJ show on Nightwave Plaza called VHS Pop Break a series of 30 minute curated mixes that premiere on Plaza TV every Sunday at 12 PM EST via the Nightwave Plaza Discord, before being uploaded to her YouTube channel shortly after.

As always these records are making their way into the Dungeon !

  1. channel select – NEW AIR

This was the first album i listened to that really got me into and wanting to make VHS Pop. The album just feels like a lost recording from the 80’s or 90s, showered in hip-hop and RnB samples chopped and screwed to make you feel like you’re in a late night broadcast. The track LATENITE’s sample was not really known for a good while ! I think this album really did start it all for me, and lead me into discovering other VHS pop artists like Epson and. CASTING, and inspired me to create my own VHS Pop sound.

  1. EPSON – SPACE CAMP

Another VHS Pop/late night lofi classic with some very simple but catchy loops. The track HEY HEY is my favorite EPSON track. This is another very inspirational album to me that taught me that sample chopping doesn’t need to be CRAZY for a track to come out amazing, even the most bare minimum loop can work really well if done right.

  1. Cape Coral – Slowed Midnight

This album to me is pure vaporfunk to me, which is the vaporwave subgenre i wanted to get into before putting it all into VHS Pop. Cape Coral has some great flips of well known samples here and is part of the inspo that i pull from to mix vaporfunk into my own work.

  1. ab97 – La Grande Nuit Video

One thing you should probably know about me is that I love signalwave, and signalwave artists that can creatively turn a commercial into a flowy danceable track really have my heart. Every single track on this album is so so good, I love the bass on some of the tracks, and the visuals ab97 made for these tracks for a SignalCon set really tie it all together. This is one of the inspirations that made me want to make the VIDEOFNUK visual album part signalwave.

  1. Luxury Elite – High Society

I discovered this album a little while after it dropped on youtube. I watched the VHS version of this album on repeat for a couple of years. I was very much inspired by her visuals to begin my journey of making my own visuals for my music. I also want to mention that this is the level of chopping that i aspire to get to one day with my chopping of samples, you can barely tell what the sample is in a good majority of these tracks !

Thanks again to ๐™๐™„๐™…๐™„ ๅณถใฎๆฐด for the contribution, she still has a few tapes left from Sanctuary Live โ€™25 via Obicogs (with proceeds supporting TransOhio), and only a handful of STRAIGHT TO VHS: Anniversary Edition tapes and cassettes remain on First Class Collective. A new collaborative project VIDEOFUNK with solodolo84 and videodromeTV is planned for this year but before that see you this weekend for Sanctuary 2026 !
